About University

rector In Myanmar, nurses are health care personnel who play an important role in providing health care to the community. Previously, there was no specific nursing training school in the country but nursing training courses were opened attached with the hospitals at states and divisions. In the projects of public health extensively carried out by the Ministry of Health, to promote the ratio of doctor and nurse, it was necessary to produce more nurses. Moreover, it was also necessary to upgrade the standard of Nursing Education. To fulfill the needs, with the joint-co-operation and collaboration between Myanmar government and Japanese government, the nursing training school was started to establish in March, 1984 and completed in February, 1986, spending altogether 122.96 million kyats, including the donation of Japanese government, i.e.¥2870 ( 100.45 million kyats ) and that of Myanmar government, i.e. 22.51 million kyats.
